Hi, My name is Blake. After combining my love for playing our great sport, my knowledge of flight that I have learned as an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force, and an affection for art. I have set out with a crazy dream of building a disc golf company from the ground up. So I built a shop in my garage. Spent endless hours of prototyping, and making custom discs for my close friends. Now I am here to share my art form with the disc golf community. On March 24th 2025 the PDGA approved my first disc a putter I named sPUTTnik. The original Sputnik was the first thing launched into space thus the very first disc I would launch. Ironically also the name of a team I was on in the sixth grade (Clarkston people let me know if you remember haha!) anyhow let's just say it was serendipity.
For now, I am a one-man show (with a heck of a lot of support from a lot of great people) dedicated to crafting truly unique discs and Redefining the word art IN the world of disc golf, one custom disc at a time. Additive and 3D printer manufacturing is a crazy and vast way of making all sorts of things where anything is possible. seriously we are only at the beginning stage of what these machines are capable of. During prototyping and learning CAD design, I had a crazy idea of putting the traditional stamp under the surface and INSIDE the disc fusing the artwork into the disc. This was not an easy task with a single-nozzle 3d printer using TPU material (the stuff most traditional discs are made of). But I did it! I hope you think it is as awesome as I do.
What makes this possible? A groundbreaking manufacturing process that blends traditional craftsmanship with the power of 3D printing. I 3D print the disc with an embedded additive of color inside that is flexible and strong ensuring that the art in these discs will last. Every color is placed inside the design by hand almost like the disc is tattooed not just drawn on, it is permanent. Each disc is meticulously designed, ensuring that every swirl, color, and detail is not just a design – it’s a part of the disc itself. No two discs are the same as far as art design and color, yet the “mold” is precise and doesn’t change. Each custom creation is one-of-a-kind, built to reflect a disc golfer's style, personality, and passion for the game with a trusted flight every time. Did I mention they fly amazingly? Super straight on flat and hold any line you put it on all the way to the end.
At SCI-FLY-DISCS, it’s not just about the disc – it’s about the experience. From the first sketch to the final throw, I am committed to delivering discs that elevate your game and inspire your love for the sport. With goals of growing to a full lineup that pushes the boundaries of our sport and growing the sport within the US military community, every purchase truly means the world to my family and I. Ready to invoke your imagination on every throw of your very own custom disc? SCI-FLY-DISCS is where your next favorite disc is waiting to be born.
Cheers,
- Blake
